The weekly schedule is full of educational, recreational, and social activities and hopefully has something of interest to everyone. There is always more than one thing to choose from on the schedule, and at any time there is the opportunity to meet informally with others over a cup of coffee, a game of chess, a pack of cards, etc.

Here is a description of some of the activities to give you an idea of their range: On Mondays there is a music course where the participants get to listen to and learn about various kinds of music; on Tuesdays, a cooking/nutrition course where everyone cooks a meal together; on Wednesdays, a computer course where each participant has a computer to use with Internet access; on Thursdays, bowling at the Rose Bowl in N.D.G. on lanes made accessible with a mobile ramp; and on Fridays, in-house movies where the latest DVDs are shown on a big-screen TV and popcorn is served when you are lucky.

Other activities include painting, arts and crafts, personal development, French, exercise classes, and boccia. For the most part, the courses are given by teachers from the Montreal School Board. Some exceptions are geography, Spanish, and drama, all of which are taught by members of the Action Centre who have used their interests and expertise to put together courses that have proven to be hits.


Outside of the weekly schedule, there are special activities each month (and twice monthly during the summer) organized by the Centre’s Social Club. They include dances and a variety of outings. For more information on these, please see the Events section.
