Our mission

The Action Centre is a member-based bilingual community organization where adults with physical disabilities are supported in achieving their full potential. Equal access, inclusivity, respect, and empathy are our guiding principles.

Focusing on education, socialization, recreation and wellness, the Action Centre enhances the quality of life of its members in a safe, enriching environment. The Action Centre provides respite care for its members’ caregivers thus improving their quality of life as well.

The Action Centre raises public awareness about the needs of individuals with physical disabilities and the systemic barriers that hinder their personal and professional development.

At Action Centre, we offer various on-site and online programming. If you are interested in participating in our day programs, including physical exercises & wellness, art & creativity, social activities and many more, please get in touch. Respite

Respite

Centre Action’s respite service provides daytime, reliable support for individuals and families who care for loved ones with specific needs. Delivered by certified caregivers experienced in assisting individuals with physical disabilities, our service ensures participants receive safe, respectful, and quality care. This support allows caregivers to take time to rest, attend to personal responsibilities, and recharge, knowing their loved ones are in capable and compassionate hands. Contact us to know more.

Community Participation

Community Participation

Special events include dances, holiday celebrations, theme parties, dinners, shopping excursions, and outings in the city. In-advance registration is required.

Join us

Become a Member

We welcome adults between twenty-one and sixty-five years old living with a physical impairment (motor and sensory deficits). In order to benefit from our wide range of activities, you must apply to become an Action Centre member. Membership costs $25 per year.

Academic Partnerships

The Action Centre welcomes requests for our collaboration on research projects which benefit adults with physical disabilities. When submitting your request, please include the name of the project, ethics committee approval, detailed description of the project, the name of the funder, the name of the principal investigator, the consent form, and specific details about the potential for involvement of the Action Centre.
