Start of Game
Each team selects one player to race to centre court. The team that wins will start with ball possession.
Violations
A traveling violation occurs if the player takes more than two (2) pushes while in possession of the ball and not dribbling. A player lifting his\her legs to gain an advantage or lifting out of their chair is in violation and the ball will be awarded to the other team. All players must remain firmly seated in their chairs and must not use their lower limbs to steer the chair or gain an unfair advantage. Offensive players may not remain in the key area for more than three (3) seconds. Fouls The wheelchair is considered part of the player's body in relation to establishing responsibility for contact on court in the case of charging, blocking, going out of bounds, and other violations.
Foul Shots
Foul shots will be awarded when a player is fouled while in the act of shooting the basketball. (We will use a modified foul line)
Out of Bounds
The team that was the last to touch the ball before going out of bounds loses possession.
Time-Outs
Each team will receive one 60 second timeout per game.
